I wanted to give a glowing review. I wanted to find great wisdom in these books... I don't like giving tepid reviews.... but....
I watched the DVDs, read a book and a half and perused the others... this is not at all what I was hoping for. There is no practical guidance here... just a hodgepodge of information and grand-standing on the part of the author. For a gnostic collection, there is quite a bit of dogma in here. Nothing that empowers the reader. Perhaps he has other material that offers practical advice, exercises or even a path to transmuting sexual energy -- but none of the materials here cover that. I thought gnosticism was about experience... not hearsay or dogma. It isn't about accepting someone else' truth, but finding your own.
The author is clearly very intelligent, but flits from one subject to another with seemingly little or no rhyme or reason. Perhaps 20 years ago I would have found this interesting, but it all just sounds like new-age fluff with little actual substance.
I shouldn't be surprised, I suppose. I've been looking all over for good, practical information on the subject of sexual transmutation for some time now, and I cannot seem find any. Most of it is steeped in New Age BS, occult "symbolism" or esoteric yogic practices that are entrenched in religious dogma. All of that stuff is fine, but I'm so past all that, I'm ready to experience -- and there seems to be little information on how to do this here, or anywhere else for that matter.
I don't want to be awed by human potential or by the spiritual exploits of the author. I don't want to be told what to believe. I don't want to flail in the quagmire of philosophical possibilities. I want practical information. I want experience, not talk. I'm a good student: show me. These books do nothing of the sort. So far, I've found nothing gnostic here. I wish it were otherwise.
